Charitable Giving

From April 2012, Big Yellow began fund raising and providing free storage for recognised charities, as chosen by our employees. To date we have raised £25,360 and donated 1,470 sq ft of storage space worth £52,919

We're also keen to recognise other charitable causes and since 2007, we have raised just under £134,147 and donated 28,510 sq ft of storage space worth £1,260,192.

Our recognised Charity, prior to April 2012 was Cancer Research for whom we raised over £65,065 and donated 5,865 sq ft of storage space worth over £406,800.

Abigail's Footsteps

Abigail's Footsteps was launched in 2010 in memory of Abigail Rose-Ann Ward. The charity aims to raise much needed moneys to be used to make a difference for parents who may sadly suffer a stillbirth, as well as raising awareness of stillbirth which takes the lives of 17 babies every single day in the UK more

 

British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation is the nation's heart charity, whose vision is a world where people don't die prematurely from heart disease. The charity works to achieve this through pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease. It works alongside alongside government, other health charities, healthcare professionals and thousands of dedicated supporters to beat heart disease more

 

Cystic Fibrosis

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust actively supports excellence in research and clinical care, as well as providing practical support and advice to people with Cystic Fibrosis and their families. The charity funds high quality research to understand Cystic Fibrosis better and to develop new and improved treatments. more

Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest cancer care and support charities in the UK, which provides practical, medical and financial support to people affected by cancer. The charity also helps carers, families and communities, as well as funding nurses, other specialist health care professionals and cancer care centres. more

NSPCC

The NSPCC is inspired by a belief that it can make a difference for all children. To help end cruelty to children in the UK the charity aims to create and deliver the services that are most effective at protecting children, it provides advice and support for adults and professionals worried about a child, it works with organisations to ensure they effectively protect children – and challenges those who do not and it campaigns for changes to legislation, policy and practice in order to keep children safe more

Parcels4Troops

Parcels4Troops was set up in 1990 by a Prison Officer and ex Royal Corps of Transport who sent parcels to his former army colleagues during the Gulf War. The scheme continued to help a couple of his work colleagues who were in the Territorial Army and deployed to Iraq on active service. The parcels were extremely well received, word spread and many more parcels were sent out to the units involved. From 2008, Parcels4troops has supported troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and since December 2007 it has sent almost 11,000 individual named parcels to both operations more

Sheffield Children's Hospital

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is an organisation dedicated to supporting children, young people and their families. The aim of the trust is to provide care and treatment of the highest standard to the children and young people of Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond, working closely with children and their families, other partners, and staff to improve the health, wellbeing and life chances of the younger population more

The Farleigh Hospice

The Farleigh Hospice cares for people in the Mid Essex area who are affected by cancer or other life limiting illnesses and who have complex needs. The care provided by the hospice is specialised and tailored to meet the needs of each individual. The hospice supports the patient, family and carers in a holistic way that meets their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. more

The Peace Hospice

The Peace Hospice, based in Watford, cares for people living with a life limiting or terminal illness and supports their families. It provides inpatient care, day care, an outpatient service, a hospice at home service as well as bereavement support. more

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre, providing treatment and care for more than 40,000 cancer patients every year. It is also at the forefront of cancer research. Its work influences how all cancer patients are treated and cared for, not just in its own hospitals but all over the world. The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity supports this pioneering work and thanks to its supporters, the charity is able to help The Royal Marsden continue to push boundaries and raise standards of excellence more

Big Yellow Chelmsford add a touch of colour to Farleigh Hospice’s summer.

A team from Big Yellow gave up their free time this month to help out the Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford with some DIY painting.
