Big Yellow provides secure do it yourself storage rooms for domestic and business customers for as long or as short a period as required.

You hire your own clean, dry, private, self-contained storage room, and lock it with your own padlock (you’ll find a range on sale in-store and online).

Our stores offer sophisticated 24 hour security including a personal access code system which allows you into our buildings seven days a week, 365 days a year. The system ensures you have total control over who enters your storage room.

What makes Big Yellow different?

Unlike traditional or containerised storage (which charge customers up to £50 plus VAT each time they access their container) Big Yellow gives you immediate "walk-in" access to your storage room without any additional charges, however frequently you visit.

Our trademark yellow buildings contain storage space divided into rooms from 10 sq. ft. to over 500 sq ft – so you only need pay for the space you need. Big Yellow stores are open seven days a week and for your convenience the majority now offer extended access (5am - 11pm) which is available upon payment of a small additional four-weekly administration fee.

Our friendly staff are available seven days a week to make sure you get the space you need, and to advise on everything from packing to van hire.

And remember, we don’t charge VAT on our spaces.

What can I store in my space?

You can store practically anything at Big Yellow. It could be a vinyl collection you’ve run out of room for, bulky sports equipment you only use occasionally, or a whole house full of possessions you need a safe, temporary home for. Our business customers use their space for anything from swivel chairs and desks to heavy files they don’t need to access every day – and stock of all descriptions. All we ask is that the things you store with us are not flammable, perishable or illegal.
