What is Self Storage?

Big Yellow provides secure do it yourself storage rooms for domestic & business customers for as long or as short a period as required.

You hire your own clean, dry, private, self - contained storage room, and lock it with your own padlock. We have a range of padlocks available in store.

Our stores offer sophisticated 24 hour security including a personal access code system which allows you into our buildings 7 days a week 365 days a year. The system ensures that you have total control over who enters your storage room.

Why is Big Yellow different?
Unlike traditional or containerised storage (which charge customers up to £50 plus VAT each time they access their container) Big Yellow gives you immediate "walk-in" access to your storage room without any additional charges, however frequently you visit.

Our trademark yellow buildings contain storage space divided into rooms from 10 sq. ft. to over 500 sq. ft. so that you only pay for the space you need! Big Yellow stores are open 7 days a week and for your convenience the majority now offer Extended Access (5am - 11pm) which is available upon payment of a small additional four weekly administration fee.

Our friendly staff are available 7 days a week to help and advise you on all your storage needs from the amount of space you will need, to packing tips and local removal company recommendations.

And most importantly we do NOT charge VAT on storage rooms

What can you store?
You can store practically anything, almost regardless of size, from filing cabinets to fish tanks, Christmas decorations to computers, beds to bicycles, granny's china to garden furniture - as long as it's not flammable, perishable or illegal.
