Back To School: Reclaim Your Space

Back To School: Reclaim Your Space

As the kids are preparing to start a new school year, it’s a great opportunity for you to reclaim the areas of the home. These spaces may have been taken over with toys and sports items throughout the summer holidays. Shelving is one of the simplest storage solutions for your child’s belongings as they are kept together in one place. Children can easily find their things and will be able to see exactly where they need to be returned too. Not only are shelves convenient, they’re easy to assemble as they can be mounted directly onto your walls using an L-shaped bracket. The amount of shelving you use depends on the amount of space is available on the wall and the amount of things you need to be placed on them. As children don’t need to store long clothing in […]

READ International Uganda Update (Part 1)

On the 22nd August READ International completed its latest mission in Uganda with the help of student volunteers from the University of Edinburgh. They were able to successfully distribute over 29,000 textbooks to primary and secondary schools in the Mubende and Masaka districts. At the same time they were also able to aid in the renovation of the Mubende Community Library. When the team from Edinburgh arrived at the library it was a dark and gloomy building with a small number of books gathering dust in a storage cupboard. It was a large space so the team had to really get stuck in if they were to make a difference. The team showed the same enthusiasm that they demonstrated throughout the previous year when the team were collecting textbooks and raising money. For the first time the town had a […]

Did You Know You Can Store Files In The Cloud?

Did You Know You Can Store Files In The Cloud?

Did you know you can store computer files online without them taking up space on your computer? When you store items online it’s called ‘Cloud Storage’ or ‘The Cloud’ and can often act as a cheaper alternative to buying additional hard drives for your computer. What makes cloud storage so useful is if you’re connected to the internet, you can access your files. It doesn’t matter what your location is or what computer you’re using. There are different forms of cloud storage; private clouds, public and hybrid which make it easy to store documents for you and share with others if they’re too large to fit in an email. Unfortunately Big Yellow can’t store your physical items in our ‘Cloud’ yet but you can store your household items in our self storage rooms for a little as a week, month, […]

Armadillo Self Storage Finds The Perfect Storage Solution For RSPCA Peterborough

Armadillo Self Storage Finds The Perfect Storage Solution For RSPCA Peterborough

Our Armadillo store in Peterborough has come to the rescue of a very deserving local RSPCA charity shop as it closes its doors for the last time. There is a new shop opening in the near future, but until then staff need to store their stock. In anticipation of the new shop opening, Armadillo Self Storage has donated free storage space for three months to help out. As a result, the RSCPA shop doesn’t have to spend money on storage and can instead channel those funds straight back into helping animals in the Greater Peterborough area that have sadly been abandoned or neglected. Visit RSPCA Peterborough for further information on volunteering and fundraising opportunities.

A brilliant stop motion video showing the constructing of the maze and those trying to make their way through was lovingly out together to share with you. Let us know what you think in the comments section.

Exciting News From READ International

Exciting News From READ International

It’s a very exciting time for READ International as donations have arrived safely in East Africa! Their summer team has recently received 280,000 books that are destined for Tanzanian schools and that will be transported across 14 regions of Tanzania this month. We’re also very happy to hear that READ International are receiving hundreds of queries a week from people who wish to donate books to schools in East Africa.
