Our Barking Store

Big Yellow Barking has been open since 2007. We are conveniently located at the Barking/East Ham roundabout on the A406 next door to Selco and close to Wickes and Tesco Extra. Did you know we use solar energy panels on our roof to generate some of our own energy? – a core part of Big Yellow’s sustainability policy. Our friendly staff are always happy to discuss your storage needs, make you a cup of tea and find you the right sized storage unit to fit your needs.

You’ll access the storage facility using an app called StorID. With StorID, your phone acts like a digital code—giving you instant, secure entry without the need to remember or type anything in. Just swipe and go.


To get started, our team at reception will set you up. You can also read more about how it works in our quick guide.

There is no minimum stay, but a 14-day notice period applies to all billing. This means you will only pay for the time you are with us, subject to a minimum charge of 14 days.

There is a recycling centre just 2 miles away on Jenkins Lane at IG11 0AD. You'll need to book via their website before getting there - https://www.newham.gov.uk/rubbish-recycling-waste/jenkins-lane-re-use-recycling-centre.
 

Our reception opening hours are:

Monday - Friday 8:30am and 5:30pm
Saturday 9am and 5:30pm
Sunday 10am and 4pm

During these hours you can come and go to your storage room as many times as you need.  If you need access beyond these hours come and have a chat with us and we'll see what we can arrange.  We may be able to organise extended hours access for an additional fee.  However this is subject to store discretion.

Our extended access  hours are:

Yes you can. Any room 150 sq ft and above has lights fitted inside them.  Our smaller sized rooms do not, however our corridors are brlghtly lit and customers tend to find this is more than adequte in these smaller sized rooms.
