From an environmental perspective, BRITA reduce the amount of travelling and therefore its carbon footprint by having its pallets delivered to Big Yellow locations, rather than to individual customers.

Due to the scale and size of its business, BRITA needed to expand its storage spaces to a country-wide network, and now use 15 Big Yellow storage facilities across the UK. Big Yellow was able to offer BRITA a national account, allowing BRITA one point of contact to manage all its storage units. This is managed by a dedicated team to ensure a prompt response to any requests or queries. Setting up new rooms is easy, without the need to sign a customer licence at individual stores, and services such as forklifting or customer specific requests are actioned across multiple locations quickly and efficiently.

BRITA utilises Big Yellow stores to keep its filter exchange parts, including control panels and piping, dust-free and secure. Steven Thornton, Director UK Logistics and Supply Chain at BRITA, said: “As well as allowing our engineering team to have direct access to stock all over the country, we need to make sure the BRITA filtration parts are kept clean, so the dust-free environments at Big Yellow facilities are a big bonus to us.”

Steven commented: “We have an excellent working relationship with the Big Yellow National Accounts team, and its helpful staff are always proactive in solving our storage problems and providing ideas on ways which we can be more cost effective. Plus, we receive just one comprehensive invoice per month from Big Yellow, including break down of fees for all our storage units, which really helps with managing the spaces. Big Yellow plays an imperative role in day-to-day operations at BRITA, and our overall success as a business.” 

Being able to access its filtration parts outside normal working hours is a priority for BRITA, and Big Yellow offers its national account holders easy pin code access so they can get to their rooms whenever they need to.  

BRITA is planning to expand its network of Big Yellow facilities across the country as its need for storage grows. Big Yellow also offers national account holders’ access to its partner storage facilities, including Armadillo Self Storage, part of the Big Yellow Group.
