KR Sabers
What started out as a hobby quickly developed into an international business. The founder of KR Sabers, Khal Mohazzeb-Jahromi, built his first lightsabre in 2013 and challenged himself to recreate every single character lightsaber featured in the Star Wars movies.

After posting the results online, Khal quickly realised that there were legions of sci-fi fans who wanted their own customised lightsabers, and KR Sabers the business was born. As the orders started to stack-up, Khal realised that he needed a storage company that would be able to house large stockpiles, while also assisting him with the management and organisation of an ever-increasing collection of sabers. Before discovering Big Yellow, Khal was concerned about finding a safe storage space. Due to the nature of the business, Khal often stores bespoke lightsabers within his unit that are tailored to each client. Creating these sabers is a lengthy process, so it’s essential that they are stored securely.

Khal mentions that alternative warehousing options in the area were too expensive and didn’t offer the services and attentive staff found at Big Yellow: “Warehouses nearby charge upwards of £30,000 per year and don’t offer any of the service benefits found at Big Yellow. The staff are friendly, accommodating and always ready to go the extra mile for me and my business.”
I needed a space that was large enough for me to keep most of my stock but also provide me with a space to work on the customisation of the sabres. A friend recommended Big Yellow because of the services provided represented real value for money.

Big Yellow’s continued support and business services - like signing and managing deliveries in a customer’s absence - means that Khal only attends his unit a few times a week, giving him more time to build relationships and with a passionate online community of Star Wars fans.

Khal’s number one tip for starting a business is to believe in yourself, he says: “From my experience, the biggest thing in business is to believe in yourself and your product.”
