Paula was extremely helpful when I first got in touch and kept her word when she promised to call me back. When I returned a few months later, I was pleasantly surprised to find she had remembered my case. She and Tom were also very helpful on the day. Fantastic team who clearly like their job. Highly recommend.
Chris has the patience of an absolute saint. My move in was disrupted by removal men and Chris was continuously helpful and reassuring and ensured a smooth move in when it finally happened. He has been a great communicator and extremely pleasant to deal with.
The initial enquiry was complicated. I came to Big Yellow because I had a reservation with Shurgard but they weren’t being very pleasant or transparent. Despite emails saying Big Yellow would price match I couldn’t get an equivalent price because BY apparently couldn’t Price Match when there are limited numbers of rooms available. I eventually went with BY paying a bit more because I’ve had good experiences before and I didn’t like the thought of using Shurgard even though they were cheaper. I thought the process of getting a comparable quote was unnecessarily complicated. But the online pre check in with BY was very good.

The only thing that marred an excellent process was the insistence that I had to give a replacement value as if I was buying new in order to fill the insurance form. A lot of my goods were around 41 years old and some of them bought second hand at the time. None of them are currently made so how on earth can I give a proper answer? I had to go home and find out some prices but they are hardly accurate and estimates at best. It is a fairly daft insistence.
Store manager was excellent and went out of this way to make the check-in process easy.
It was all really easy and pleasant, and Alfie at the Wandsworth branch had great customer service skills; he made the move in so easy and helpful!
