Our Richmond Store
Big Yellow Self Storage Richmond is on the main road just a short walk from Richmond High Street. We have been helping the Richmond community with their storage for over 25 years and were the first Big Yellow storage facility to open. Close by, Richmond Park is the largest open space in London, covering 2,500 acres and is home to over 600 red and fallow deer. King Henry’s Mound in the park is the perfect viewpoint to see views of the City and St. Paul’s Cathedral, 10 miles away. Richmond is also home to the Poppy Factory, where all the poppies for Remembrance Day are produced.

You’ll access the storage facility using an app called StorID. With StorID, your phone acts like a digital code—giving you instant, secure entry without the need to remember or type anything in. Just swipe and go.

To start renting your storage room, you’ll need to visit the store to sign your customer licence and pay for your initial 4-week period, deposit, and contents protection.
Contents protection is required before you can begin storing. You can either use our Enhanced Liability Service or provide your own insurance policy, but it must specifically cover self storage and clearly list our store address. A copy of the policy will need to be provided before move-in.
Don’t forget you'll need a padlock to secure your room - we sell combination locks at the store if you need to buy one.
If you need help getting your items to us, we’re happy to recommend trusted local removal companies. Alternatively, you can bring your belongings by car and use the trolleys available onsite to move them easily into your storage room.
We have over 25 years of experience in offering safe and secure storage. This includes individually alarmed rooms with unique PIN code entry, 24 hour monitored CCTV, electronic security gates and manned stores - we're onsite every day of the week.
There is no minimum stay, but a 14-day notice period applies to all billing. This means you will only pay for the time you are with us, subject to a minimum charge of 14 days.
Yes, all customers must insure their goods while in storage - it’s a condition of our storage license. You can choose our Enhanced Liability Service or provide your own insurance, as long as it covers items in self storage. If using your own provider, the policy must include our store’s name and address, and we’ll need a copy for our records during your stay.
