Did You Know: Space Storage
… that NASA is using energy storage technology to help power a lunar outpost on the moon? This will allow astronauts to spend long periods of time on the surface.
The outpost will collect solar energy to power a ‘Lunar Lander’, which in turn will deliver hardware to the base, as well as help to ‘fuel’ extremely advanced spacesuits. In every case, safe, reliable operation and low mass are critical to ensure the viability of extended stays on the lunar surface while minimising the weight carried around.
Here at Big Yellow, conserving energy is just as important. We continue to establish sustainable practices in order to meet Climate Change objectives in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy generation, employee travel and merchandise material selection. Secondary environmental objectives include waste and pollution reduction, water conservation and improved landscape biodiversity.
