… of each storage item (whether it’s a box, cabinet or file), write down what it contains and to what kind of room it belongs. Don’t just write it on one side, as sometimes it may be stacked in such a way that your label will be hidden from view. This saves time when trying to remove one item from your unit. If you don’t want to write directly onto something, buy some masking tape and a marker pen. The tape won’t leave any residue or damage the item you need to label for effective self storage.
