It was a very practical and safe way to store my 'life' when away and between homes.

The service is very good overall. The only aspect which lets the company down is the out of hours service. There really should be a properly user-friendly 24 hour service rather than a re-direction to a security guard who is not located at the facility and who has no authority or ability to actually do anything useful.

The security and comfort Big Yellow offers is excellent. Access could be extended into evenings more but that is only a minor quibble. Overall excellent service

I think the discount I received initially was fantastic and made storage extremely affordable, but I would have liked to continued the same rate or at least a small discounted rate when I extended my storage period. I understand you have to decide upfront how long you need, however, due to circumstances changing, it would be nice to extend as an existing customer without going back to the full rate. Apart from this my experience was fantastic.

Good security always reassuring when one comes in in non office opening times.Lights come on automatically & music to avoid that otherwise v quiet place.Easy to depsart leaving all locked.

Ease of access to rooms seems to vary depending on the location of the room. Previously I had a small room along a narrow corridor on the third floor which was very difficult to manoevre large and/or heavy items in and out of - the Big Yellow carts were too wide for the corridor so I had to carry everything to and fro. However there are other rooms of the same size opening onto wider corridors, so obviously those are much better value than the one I had. Hence it seems to be a matter of pure luck as to whether you get the room size you want in a good or a bad location). Sunday opening hours are too limited.

I was in Brazil when I had to extend the length of my contract and through a few emails I managed to get it all worked out. The staff was very helpful.

Our Big Yellow storage facility is always clean and the staff friendly. But we hate spending any length of time there sorting out our unit because of the incredibly irritating tinny speakers spewing pop music out on each floor. The music would be fine but the speakers sound awful and are truly grating and annoying to have to listen to. It would be much better to either upgrade the speakers to something decent, or just turn it off! This may sound like a small thing, but it makes us dread using the facilities, and might make us think twice if we had to rent again in the future.

From the beginning, the staff were always very helpful and honest with their advice on what space I needed to store all my items safely and securely. They did not try to sell me a larger space room just for the sake of gaining more money for their company - this attitude has always reassured me that my items were safe!
