There is currently no student specific discount. But please check with your local store or our UK based Customer Support Centre on 0800 783 4949 or 01276 477177 in case this changes. If we are running a student discount, you will need to produce a valid NUS card to qualify for any discount available. We reserve the right to remove any discount without prior notification.

We offer a 10% discount to any member of the NHS, Police, Ambulance, Fire service, Armed Forces or Armed Forces veterans upon production of a valid ID card. Terms and conditions apply.

You can prepay for any length of time over 52 weeks and up to 2 years in one go. This will give you a 5% discount off your storage costs.

Yes. If you recommend someone that we have not already been in conversation with and they store with us for a minimum of 4 weeks, you can receive 50% off your next 4 weeks storage rental inclusive of VAT up to the value of £150. See full Terms and Conditions here.

Yes. All Big Yellow Shareholders are entitled to a discount of 10% on self storage, flexi-office rental, the purchase of boxes and packing materials and our Enhanced Liability Service when protecting your goods here at Big Yellow or Armadillo stores. This discount is in addition to the standard Big Yellow opening offer of 50% discount for up to 8 weeks on self storage.

In order to claim the shareholder discount, you need to show proof of your shareholding at the store e.g. the welcome letter you received when you became a shareholder or a copy of your share certificate. The name on the share certificate must match the name of the person taking the storage.

Who can use the offer?
This promotion is available to new customers who don’t currently have storage with us, and to existing customers taking additional space or transferring to a larger room.

How long does the discount last?
The 50% discount applies to your first invoice only, which can cover 4, 8, or 12 weeks, depending on the option you choose at move-in. Once selected, the duration can be reduced but not increased.

Is there a minimum stay?
Yes. The minimum stay for the opening offer is 14 days. If you move out before 14 days, the discount won’t apply.

What if I move out early?
If you’ve stayed 14 days or more but leave before your offer period ends, we’ll adjust your final bill so you only pay the full rate for the time you’ve used.
Example: If you chose the 8-week option but move out after 6 weeks, you’ll be refunded 2 weeks at half price.

Do I need to pay upfront?
Yes, payment is taken in advance for the full duration of the discounted period.

Can I use the offer more than once?
You can use the opening offer up to twice during your stay, even if you take multiple rooms or transfer between spaces.

Are there any restrictions?
The offer applies to selected room sizes only.
Must be when taking additional space or transferring to a larger room.
Maximum of two uses per stay.
It’s not available to National Customers.
If your Customer Licence is transferred into another name, the offer won’t be reapplied.
